#MMBBR #Review My First Book of Hockey by Editors of Sports Illustrated for Kids

Next up in the fan-favorite Rookie Book series, Sports Illustrated Kids explains the coolest game in the world to its youngest fans.

The puck drops, skates flash, and sticks fly-a hockey game is underway! With a fun mix of Sports Illustrated action photography, simple text, a full glossary of terms, and cool graphics, My First Book of Hockey introduces readers to the basics. Kids (and maybe a few adults, too!) will learn how power plays work, how the three-period game flows, what a hat trick is, what's up with the referee's crease, and more.

An illustrated "rookie" character appears on every page, guiding the reader moment by moment, and helping to make My First Book of Hockey an ideal shared reading experience between parents and their young rookies before, during, and after the game.

There is something special about a book that first introduces a child to something. It is is one of those books that I, I feel, a child will remember for a lifetime. In MY FIRST BOOK OF HOCKEY:  A ROOKIE BOOK~Mostly Everything Explained About the Game children and adults alike will be taken away into the world of hockey from the formation of teams, to how the game is played to where and why. What I love about this book is that there is a cartoon character that we follow throughout the book as he learns the game. But what is even cooler is that the he is among live action pictures of the game and the players in real pictures. It is a really cool detail that my kids and I appreciated. All the speech bubbles are fun to read too, as it cool to see what the players are thinking during those moments. This is an easy to read and easy to understand lighthearted look at the game of hockey. I cannot wait to read it to my kids during hockey season. I know that the kids will get pumped up and ready for hockey! 5 stars
